Artwork & Photography

For about two years now, I have been experimenting with aerial photography. I take photos from the ground using a specially designed radio controlled aircraft. I also plan on expanding my aerial Photography repertoire to include the use of kites as a platform in the near future. If you would like to know a bit more about my aerial photography process please follow the "faq" link at the bottom of the page.

Lately I have been painting with soft pastels. I love the immediacy of the medium, and the bright vibrant colors that they produce. I have started a series of clown portraits in pastel, some of which can be seen in the gallery. The idea of a clown or a jester intrigues me, and this is why I chose them as my subject. They wear a mask, and the mask tells you one story. The expression on the person's face may tell you a completely different story - or it may match up exactly. For me the clown is a representation of an average everyday person going through life. Everybody wears a mask at one point or another.

When it comes to my non-representational artwork, I like to employ the use of strict geometric forms with absolute symmetry. They do not employ a focal point, but rather interest is created in the chaos that comes from the repetition and symmetry of the forms.

All pieces seen in the galleries here are for sale. The aerial photographs are limited to a run of 100 prints. They are $35 dollars each plus shipping ($8 U.S.). They are signed and numbered and come unmatted and unframed.
